Do I need a hazardous waste premises code in order to have a collection of WEEE taken from my premises?
- Only, if it is hazardous waste within the WEEE you are getting rid of. This would include items such as lamps, batteries, CRT's etc. You should also check on the environment agencies website on www.environment-agency.gov.uk to see whether you are in the small minority of companies in the UK who are exempt from registering and if not this will show you how to register if you haven't already done so.
How will you pick up my waste as it is very heavy and I have a lot of waste to be collected?
- At the time you arrange the collection you will be asked about the quantity and then suitable vehicle arrangements will be put in place where we either use a fork lift truck or a pallet truck and an electric tail lift.
You say you don't reuse anything that you collect. What would happen if you collected a computer and it was still in a box. Would you sell it?
- No, absolutely not. We already collect many thousands of lamps from companies that have never been used and we collect many hundreds of boxes of new electrical products from manufacturing companies but all of it is processed as soon as it arrives at our premises.
How long does it take to receive one of your containers and then have it collected?
- Normally four working days both ways, but if you have a particular urgency then you can call our staff and we will probably be able to offer you a quicker premium service for these needs.
Do you accept Plasma TV's and lap tops?
- Yes we do. These are all a part of our every day service.
Would you come out to collect one computer or is there a minimum collection charge?
- Simply call your local depot or ring our national support centre on 01388 721000 and we will try and help you and provide a solution no matter what you have.
We operate 700 stores in the UK. How can you guarantee the same service to all of our outlets?
- That is our own speciality. They will all receive exactly the same service, same price and same high levels of recycling. Call us and we will prove it to you now on 01388 721000.
